![]() Just a heads up, i called Ron Ayers about the correct impeller. It appears there are two diff impellers for the same model year? John perhaps you, or one of the others could shed some light on the 06 dl1000 impeller before i order it. i am just greatful i have other bikes to ride, while the strom is down. i am now going to try dealing with Ron Ayers. i tried two bearing shops and received the same answer.Īs much as i would love to support the local canadian economy, i have just run into dead ends. apparently the impeller bearings are '' proprietor specific''. So i figure wtf, i will go see the bearing shop, and see if they can match up the impeller bearings. i have patiently waited two weeks already. he then tells me, 'it's going to be another 6 weeks, the parts are back ordered from japan''. i get the moose in the headlight look from the parts guy. i take my old parts with me for comparison, and the parts are all wrong. So today i get a call from my dealer.''your impeller and bearings are here''. While on this subject, i also noticed a residue on the bottom of the coolant overflow bottle, almost like a fine gritty black paste. So now my bike sits in the garage waiting for a new water pump impeller, hopefully by the end of the week. upon taking the components apart, i also noticed that the impeller shaft was quite scored, so much that you could feel the grooves with your fingernail. so after reading through the threads, i decided to replace the seals, o-rings, bearings, and gasket. just recently i noticed this issue with the leak, the exact same as you describe. ![]() my dl1000 is an 06 model, with 38,000 kms on it. This appears to be quite a common occurance. ![]()
